Maury Blackman is the President & CEO of Premise Data.  Premise is a San Francisco, CA based data & analytics technology company. Premise is a San Francisco-based technology company backed by Valor Equity Partners, HNVR, Google Ventures, and Andreessen Horowitz, among others. He is currently sitting on boards and advising CEO’s from for private equity and venture firms.  His industry experiences include government, fintech, construction, public safety, geospatial information, data analytics, sharing economy services, and drone software.

In 2000, Maury joined Accela, a civic tech start-up aimed at transforming the was citizens connect with government by moving transactions from behind the counter to the cloud and mobile devices.   He first served as the VP of Sales and Marketing before assuming the role of CEO in 2007.  Following his CEO appointment, he set the foundation for the company to become a premier enterprise cloud player in the $200B government IT sector.  To support strategic initiatives and growth, Maury raised more than $300M in financing from family offices, private equity, and senior debt.  The capital from these raises, along with earnings, were then deployed to build out an enterprise offering, expand internationally, and execute an M&A strategy that closed more than 10 technology acquisitions in under 24 months.  These actions solidified the market-leading position Accela enjoys today.

During his tenure as CEO, the company achieved numerous corporate milestones resulting in triple digit valuation growth and industrywide recognition.  Accela’s account base which expanded from 300 to 2500+ during this timeframe include agencies that are the largest, most complex governments in the world (New York, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Dubai, Melbourne, AU) as well as hundreds of smaller municipalities with populations below 10K.

For his accomplishments in 2015 Blackman was recognized by Government Technology as one of its “Top 25 Doers, Dreamers, and Drivers”. In 2016, Ernst and Young awarded him 'Northern California’s Entrepreneur of the Year' – becoming the first civic tech entrepreneur to win the award.

Maury holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Houston and was a commissioned field artillery officer in the United States Army, serving on both active and reserve duty for 10 years.

Maury maintains an active lifestyle and is an eleven-time Ironman finisher, including the 2008 and 2013 Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona. He currently resides in Northern, California.
